The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, affirmed the state’s commitment to the option of decisive action to end the rebellion, stressing that the regular forces, in all their formations, stand united alongside the Sudanese people to safeguard the country’s unity and protect its sovereignty.
He made the remarks while addressing the graduation ceremony of the 22nd qualifying cohort of the General Intelligence Service, stating that the state «will not allow another opportunity for a new rebellion»,and that any leniency or retreat in this regard will be met with firmness and decisive action, reaffirming the determination to restore security and stability across all parts of the country.
Al-Burhan noted that the real threats facing Sudan require the application of the principle that «security is everyone’s responsibility», commending the resilience of the personnel of the General Intelligence Service and their loyalty to the pledge during what he described as a critical phase, and praising the heroic role they play alongside the armed forces on the battlefields.
The Commander-in-Chief also paid tribute to Sudan’s martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, expressed his wishes for a swift recovery for the wounded, and for the safe return of prisoners and the missing, affirming that their sacrifices constitute the moral impetus toward achieving a «decisive victory».
Al-Burhan’s statements come at a time when several operational fronts are witnessing field advances by the armed forces and supporting units, alongside intensified state efforts to reassert security, resume the operation of institutions, and strengthen the role of regular forces in protecting civilians and infrastructure, amid official pledges not to allow the re-emergence of chaos or rebellion once again.
