Er-Rahad – Sudan Now | February 11, 2026
The Sudan Doctors Network announced that two children were killed and 13 others injured in a drone attack that targeted Sheikh Ahmed Al-Badawi Mosque in the city of Er-Rahad, North Kordofan State.
The network said the children were attending a Quran memorization session inside the mosque when the attack occurred at dawn on Wednesday, accusing the RSF of being responsible for the strike. There was no immediate comment from the forces regarding the accusations.
The network described the incident as a violation of international humanitarian law, noting that targeting civilians and places of worship constitutes a dangerous escalation in the conflict.
It added that the attack fits what it described as a recurring pattern of assaults on civilian facilities, pointing to previous incidents involving religious sites. The network called on the international community to take action to protect civilians and to keep religious and humanitarian facilities out of military operations.
Parts of North Kordofan State have been experiencing a growing security deterioration as the conflict in Sudan continues, with serious repercussions for civilians and essential services in a number of cities.
Since the outbreak of the war in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the RSF, international organizations have repeatedly warned of the dangers of targeting civilians and non-military facilities, citing the severe humanitarian consequences of such actions.
