Kadugli, Sudan – December 13, 2025
Local sources from Kadugli, South Kordofan state, reported that a drone operated by the RSF targeted the United Nations headquarters in the city on Saturday. No official information has been released yet regarding the extent of the damage or any casualties.
The Government of the Republic of Sudan condemned the aerial attack, describing it as a serious violation of the protections afforded to UN facilities and a blatant breach of international humanitarian law. It emphasized that targeting a protected UN facility constitutes a serious escalation and criminal behavior amounting to an organized act of terrorism, endangering the safety of humanitarian workers and undermining the work of international missions.
The government held the RSF fully responsible for the attack and called on the United Nations and the international community to take firm stances and deterrent measures to ensure the protection of UN facilities and humanitarian workers, and to hold those responsible for the attack accountable under international law.
This attack comes amid a rising use of drones in the ongoing conflict in Sudan, with several states experiencing similar strikes on military and civilian sites in recent months, increasing security risks for the population and critical infrastructure, including humanitarian and international facilities.
