Local sources and field reports indicated that violations have occurred in several areas of West Kordofan State, including El Fula, Abu Zabad, and Muglad amid escalating security tensions.
The sources said that armed groups, believed to have come from South Sudan with the involvement of the RSF, carried out attacks on civilian areas, resulting in casualties and property damage, with no precise toll available so far.
In Abu Zabad, reports indicated that more than 35 women and girls were being held inside a school under conditions described as difficult, raising concerns about their safety.
Activists circulated videos on social media which they said documented the events; however, it has not been possible to independently verify their authenticity or the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
No immediate official statements were issued by local authorities or relevant bodies regarding these developments.
West Kordofan State has experienced volatile security conditions since the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023, with increased activity by armed groups in some border areas.
The fragile security situation in the state has worsened the humanitarian crisis, amid recurring reports of population displacement and violations against civilians in various locations.
