Beijing – Sudan has invited Chinese companies to expand their investments and participate in the country’s reconstruction and economic recovery, highlighting opportunities in infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, industry and logistics.

The call came during the Sudan–China Trade and Investment Forum held in Beijing, organized by the International Exchange Committee of the China Association of Trade in Services, Qixing International Investment and Service Co., Ltd., and the Sudanese Embassy in China.

Sudan’s Ambassador to China, Omar Issa Ahmed, said the forum reflected the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries, noting that China remains Sudan’s largest economic and trading partner and has contributed to major projects in the oil, energy, mining, infrastructure, agriculture and telecommunications sectors.

He said the Sudanese government is working to improve the investment climate through legal and institutional reforms while offering incentives to investors. He also welcomed China’s decision to grant full tariff exemptions for imports from least-developed African countries, describing it as an opportunity to boost Sudanese exports.

Chinese organizers said the forum aimed to strengthen economic cooperation and provide a platform for businesses from both countries to explore partnerships, expressing interest in participating in Sudan’s reconstruction and development projects.

The forum featured presentations on investment opportunities in mining, agriculture, energy, oil and gas, and concluded with business-to-business meetings between Sudanese and Chinese companies to explore potential investment projects.
