The European Union’s Special Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, Annette Weber, said she held talks with officials at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague on ways to coordinate European efforts regarding Sudan.
She added in a post on ”X” that she discussed with European partners “ways forward” to support a joint approach to the Sudanese crisis, with the participation of EU member states.
She also noted that she met with officials at the International Criminal Court, where they discussed the “ongoing need for accountability,” referring to violations linked to the conflict in Sudan.
The European Union is intensifying its diplomatic efforts to address the crisis in Sudan by coordinating with international partners and supporting political and humanitarian initiatives aimed at ending the fighting and alleviating civilian suffering.
The International Criminal Court is monitoring developments in Sudan, particularly in the Darfur region, amid allegations of serious violations that may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, alongside international calls to strengthen accountability and end impunity.
